Description

A warm and cozy spiced hot cocoa that is dairy-free and full of flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond Milk
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup or Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Whipped Cream or Marshmallows

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, pour in the almond milk and heat until steaming but not boiling (4-5 minutes).
  2. Reduce heat to low and whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth (2-3 minutes).
  3. Stir in maple syrup or honey and mix thoroughly until dissolved (about 1 minute).
  4. Add turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom, whisk for about 2 minutes until well blended.
  5. Sprinkle in black pepper and stir for an additional minute.
  6. Heat the mixture for another 2-3 minutes while stirring gently.
  7. Pour the spiced hot cocoa into mugs and serve.
  8. Optional: Top with whipped cream or marshmallows.
