Description

This simple rice recipe is perfect for a quick meal, using just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup brown rice, dry (or your favorite rice)
  • 2 cups chicken bone broth (or beef bone broth)
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water to get rid of some of the excess starch.
  2. Add the rinsed rice and the bone broth to a medium saucepan on medium heat or high heat.
  3. Bring the rice and broth to a boil and add the olive oil.
  4. Reduce heat and cover the pot with a lid.
  5. Simmer for 40 minutes for brown rice or 20 minutes for white rice (check the package for the rice you are using because cooking time will vary).
  6. Once it’s done cooking, remove from the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before removing the lid.
  7. Fluff rice with a fork.
