Ingredients

- 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
- 1 bunch (8 oz) fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- ½ cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving some cooking water.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add asparagus and sauté for 3–4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet with asparagus and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Combine the drained pasta with the asparagus mixture in the skillet. Stir in lemon juice, zest, and reserved cooking water as needed for creaminess.
- Remove from heat and mix in grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra Parmesan or lemon zest if desired.
