Description

This cornbread recipe is a deliciously sweet and moist addition to any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a small bowl combine egg, oil, honey, and milk and mix well.
  4. Add wet mixture to the dry and mix just until combined.
  5. Heat a 10 inch cast iron skillet on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the tablespoon butter, coat the skillet with the melted butter.
  7. Pour the batter into the skillet.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
