Description

This comforting slow cooker recipe features ground beef and cabbage simmered with rich flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the browned beef, cabbage, onion, garlic, rice, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.
  3. Stir to combine well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  5. Check seasoning before serving and adjust if necessary.
