Deliciously crispy parmesan onion chips, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

- 7 ounces parmesan cheese (shredded)
- 3 small yellow onions (sliced into 1/4-inch rings)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a 17 x 12-inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread the shredded parmesan into an even layer across the parchment paper.
- Arrange the onion slices in a single layer over the cheese, with edges touching but not overlapping.
- Brush the tops of the onions with the olive oil.
- In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes, if using. Sprinkle evenly over the onions. Add a light pinch of salt and scatter the thyme leaves on top.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the onions are lightly golden and the cheese is browned and crispy around the edges.
- Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes to help the chips set and crisp further.
- Break apart and serve warm.

- For added flavor, consider using different herbs or spices.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container for a few days.
