Description

A delicious and healthy recipe for pancakes made with masoor dal (red lentils), perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup masoor dal (red lentils), soaked for 4 hours
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked masoor dal. Blend it with the green chili, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, and enough water to create a smooth batter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the batter with chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add oil. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the skillet and spread into a circle.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form; flip and cook until golden brown.
  5. Repeat with remaining batter and serve hot with chutney or yogurt.

Notes

  • For a spicier option, add more green chilies.
