- 1 angel food cake, cubed
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 can (21 oz) strawberry or cherry pie filling (optional)
- 1 box (3 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1½ cups cold milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
- Caramel or berry sauce (for drizzling)
- Extra berries and whipped cream swirls (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the pudding mix with cold milk until thick, ensuring no lumps. Stir in sour cream until smooth.
- In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom.
- Add half of the mixed berries over the cake cubes.
- Spread half of the creamy pudding mixture on top of the berries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining cake cubes, berries, and pudding mixture.
- Spread the whipped topping over the final layer and drizzle with caramel or berry sauce.
- Add fresh berries and whipped cream swirls for garnish.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
