Description
A delicious macaroni and cheese dish topped with crispy grilled cheese sandwiches.

- 8 slices bread
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 1/2 cups shredded double cheddar cheese blend
- 12 oz macaroni
- 10 oz condensed cheddar cheese soup
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Spread the 8 slices of bread with margarine.
- Place 4 slices of bread, margarine side down, on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the shredded double cheddar cheese on top of the bread slices on the baking sheet.
- Place the remaining 4 slices of bread, margarine side up, on top of the cheese.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the sandwiches for 4 minutes.
- After 4 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and flip the sandwiches.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake the sandwiches for 3 more minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and set the sandwiches aside.
- Leave the oven at 400F.
- Cook the macaroni noodles according to the directions on the package.
- While the macaroni is cooking, dump the soup, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper into a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk until all of the ingredients are fully combined.
- Once the macaroni is cooked, drain it and then dump the cooked noodles into the mixing bowl with the heavy cream and cheese soup mixture.
- Stir until all of the noodles are coated in the sauce.
- Add the shredded Parmesan cheese and 2 cups of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese to the bowl and stir well.
- Dump the macaroni mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 2 cups of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend on top.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 18 minutes.
- While the macaroni and cheese is in the oven, place the prepared grilled cheese sandwiches on a cutting board.
- Cut each sandwich into 16 bite-sized pieces.
- After 18 minutes, remove the mac and cheese from the oven.
- Sprinkle the grilled cheese pieces on top of the mac and cheese.
- Return the dish to the oven and continue baking for 6 minutes just to crisp up the sandwich pieces slightly.
- Remove the dish from the oven and leave the mac and cheese to sit for a couple minutes before scooping and serving.

Notes
- You can use any type of bread for the sandwiches.
- Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
